About Bradley Leonard

I have dedicated my entire career to practicing cardiology in Dallas and North Texas. After graduating magna cum laude from Princeton University, I attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and remained at Parkland Memorial Hospital for my internship and residency in Internal Medicine. I then remained at Parkland for an extra year to serve as Chief Medical Resident. I went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. I was formerly Director of the Cardiac Catheterization and EP Labs at Baylor Regional Medical Center Plano. I served as the Chief Medical Officer and Vice-President for Medical Affairs at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano from its opening in January of 2007 until 2011, and also served as the Chief Medical Officer and VPMA at Baylor Regional Medical Center Plano from 2010 until 2012. Two of my main areas of interest are the pursuit and understanding of Quality in Health Care and the impact of Physician Leadership. I was an instructor in Quality Improvement for the Baylor Health Care System as a member of the faculty of the (Safe, Timely, Effective, Efficient, Equitable, Patient- Centered) Academy and went on to become the Chief Medical Officer for the Global Institute. I co-wrote the chapter on Care in Practice: Cardiovascular Service Lines in \"Achieving Healthcare: Baylor Health Care System\'s Quality Improvement Journey\" David J. Ballard, MD, PhD, MSPH, FACP editor (2013). I served as the Chairman of the Congestive Heart Failure Council for the Baylor Health Care System and was the 2010 recipient of the Hunt Scholarship to attend Southern Methodist University-Cox School of Business where I received a Masters in Business Administration in May of 2012. I served as the Chairman of the Cardiovascular Research Review Committee which is tasked with the adjudication of proposed research projects in cardiovascular medicine and which funds (through the Baylor Foundation) approved projects on a level of approximately annually. I also served as a speaker for the Greeley Company, and three to four times a year spoke around the country to groups of physicians and hospital executives on the subjects of Physician Leadership and Building Accountable Care Organizations. I was most recently Managing Partner of Advanced Heart Care, an independent 13 man group of Cardiologists in North Texas. I was offered and accepted a job as a Cardiologist with USMD in the Clearfork area of Fort Worth and began work there in March 2023.
