If you had to choose one thing about yourself that’s “not normal”, what would it be—and why?At Phenom People, we have a culture of celebrating those unusual events that create memorable moments out of everyday experiences. We call them #NotNormals, and every employee begins their journey with us by sharing theirs. The practice has become so ingrained in our company culture that even some clients have fun using this unique ice-breaker in meetings. In the process, I\'ve learned so much about my colleagues. Some have survived harrowing near-death experiences, others are related to celebrities, and many have quirks and talents one would never guess. I remember these stories because I listen when people speak, and I hear what they say. I’m always telling my team,\"You have to do more than just listen—you have to hear.\" Phenom People\'s focus on hearing our customers enabled us to create software that\'s helping a billion people find the right job. We use artificial intelligence to match employers to jobseekers through a global SaaS platform that provides a user experience unlike any other.We founded Phenom People in 2011 based on a simple premise: Candidates are consumers, and vice versa. So why couldn\'t searching for a job be a more personalized, user-friendly experience, like e-commerce?We\'re all just people, after all. Before anyone is a jobseeker, client, employee, recruiter, or manager, they\'re just a person who\'s trying to solve a problem. And my passion is helping people find solutions.Supporting others is much more gratifying to me than all the other things that are supposed to make people happy. When I listen, and I truly hear, I can act and execute appropriately and effectively. I can help people solve their problems and make a positive impact on their lives. These moments, by far, are my biggest wins.
