Previously owned and operated four assisted living facilities in Los Angeles County.• Responsible for overall nonprofit organization management along with senior leadership team.• Finance and Accounting responsibilities include: Budgeting, forecasting, actual results, accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, general ledger, internal controls, banking relationships, tracking investment and endowment funds, managing independent auditors and preparation of IRS Form 990’s. • Other responsibilities include managing legal matters, information technology services, insurance, office lease and equipment contracts.• Hired as interim contract controller in March 2017 and offered Director of F&A position after three months. • Caught-up general ledger closings that were 6 months behind and established 10-day closing schedule after 3½ months on job.• Prepared annual budget and instituted monthly comparisons of actual results versus budget.• Analyzed and renegotiated contracts, creating cost savings for general ledger, information technology, photocopier and cell phone services.
