About Brad Damon

My professional work sits at the intersection of systems, leadership, and human development.I am currently a higher education consultant specializing in accreditation and assessment, with a particular focus on educator preparation program accreditation and assessment. I support institutions in aligning evidence, systems, and practice with accreditation standards, while keeping continuous improvement and student outcomes at the center of the work. For over 25 years, I have worked in higher education, serving in senior leadership roles across Academics, Admissions, Records & Registration, and Operations. I have led large, multidisciplinary teams, overseen multiple campuses, and supported institutions through complex organizational and regulatory environments. A central focus of my work has been accreditation, assessment, and institutional effectiveness.I have served as a Quality Review Team Member for the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), as well as a Board Institutional Reviewer and Site Team Lead for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). In these roles, I have participated in and led numerous accreditation reviews, supporting educator preparation providers in aligning practice, evidence, and outcomes with accreditation expectations. Most recently, as Associate Dean of Accreditation and Assessment at University of Massachusetts Global, I provided institutional oversight for accreditation and assessment, generated comprehensive assessment reports, and led AAQEP and CTC accreditation efforts. I served as a liaison to accrediting bodies and collaborated closely with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to UMass Global earning full accreditation during its most recent CTC site visit.Alongside my consulting and higher education work, I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in California. My clinical work is grounded in the belief that people are inherently capable and resourceful, and that meaningful change often begins with small, intentional steps over time. I approach therapy from a collaborative, reflective, and systems-informed perspective, supporting individuals and families navigating stress, transitions, and complex life roles.Whether working with institutions or individuals, my work is guided by the same core values: clarity, integrity, collaboration, and a deep respect for human growth and development.
