Provide one-on-one advising to undergraduates on wide variety of topics including majors and minors, dual majors, studying abroad, degree process, fulfilling requirements, etc. Maintain up-to-date and accurate student records, ensuring requirements are met for all undergraduate students via degree audits and regular communications with advisees.• Deliver informational workshops for students on variety of topics including first year/sophomore decisions such as the internal transfer process, selecting a Newhouse major, selecting a minor, going abroad, etc.• Serve as point of contact for external transfers, responsible for advising, completing credit evaluations for accepted students which includes extensive research and knowledge of credit systems across the board, advising, mapping out major progression and scheduling first semester to ensure timely graduation• Identify, reach out and refer at-risk students and provide support, guidance and referral to academic departments, faculty, support services (tutoring center, writing center, math clinic), crisis intervention (Office of Student Assistance), personal counseling and therapy (Counseling Center), financial aid, residence life and to other University resources• Evaluate and approve all external/AP/IB transfer credit for first year and intra-university transfer students as well as assume responsibility for first year registration including advising incoming first year students and approval of course choices• Assist in opening weekend events, Convocation and family weekend events
