ABOUT BRAD JOHNSON
Brad Johnson was elected to the Public Service Commission in November 2014. He is committed to ensuring that utility services in Montana are safe, reliable, and cost-effective, as he believes these elements are critical to the state\'s economic development. Mr. Johnson\'s primary goal is to provide utility customers with the lowest possible rates while maintaining high standards of service quality. Prior to his tenure on the Public Service Commission, Mr. Johnson served as Montana\'s Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009. In this capacity, he focused on safeguarding the integrity and security of the electoral process. He successfully advocated for legislation that prohibited the use of electronic voting machines, thereby ensuring that paper ballots were utilized in all elections within the state. Under his leadership, Montana also became one of the pioneering states to modernize its election systems. Mr. Johnson possesses a diverse professional background, having operated as an independent businessman in Bozeman, where he owned an auto parts store. He further contributed to the success of RightNow Technologies, a prominent software company. Additionally, in the early 1980s, he served as the district representative for Congressman Ron Marlenee. Having strong ties to Montana\'s agricultural community, Mr. Johnson has held various significant positions, including that of an agricultural extension agent. He has collaborated with organizations such as the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Simmental Association and earned a master’s degree in agriculture. Born in 1951 in Lake Forest, Illinois, Mr. Johnson graduated from the University of Illinois in 1976 before relocating to Montana in 1980. He currently resides in Wimberley, TX with his wife, Linda.
