   Recruited to curate a special topics class introducing students to EVENT PRODUCTION.In this course students are introduced to a wide range of events produced for PR and marketing communications including press conferences, media briefings, red carpet arrivals, brand/product launches and meetings (corporate theater) produced at unique venue locations, across multimedia channels from live events (in-person), pre-recorded to video streaming (one-way broadcast and interactive Q&A). Students will learn the key components and skilled team resources required to design and production manage events that engage audiences across all forms of modern media (broadcast, digital, social). This course provides awareness about the planning process, key staffing roles, introduces project management work products and teaches students to identify the required components to production manage and deliver the strategic and creative objectives of the event. The class covers creative (theme, décor, branding, graphics), technical aspects (staging, audio/visual, lighting, video streaming technology) and physical logistics (seating, risers, podium, lectern) used for producing a broad spectrum of events. To successfully complete this course, students will attend class, actively participate in Q&A discussions with subject matter experts, participate in on-campus site inspection experiences related to subject matter to cover all the details associated with preparing to produce a live (in-person or broadcast) event.
