ABOUT BOUCHERA KHATIB

Throughout my time in education, I taught across all year groups through all key stages from Reception to year 6 in mainstream settings. I taught in a SEN secondary school through all key stages from KS3 to FE. This gave me a good overview of expectations across the school. I have experience of teaching years 5 and 6 and preparation for Kent tests for ten years in two different schools in Kent, taught year 3 for two years and year 4 for two years. Taken the role of a senior teacher as I have assisted the headteacher in the running and managing of the school. I have led whole school training sessions to agree a calculation policy with staff at Long Mead. I introduced Singapore Maths to staff and led training on it and as a result it has been adopted, used and embedded in preparation for the arrival of the new curriculum at Long Mead. I have also led numerous training sessions on the use of ICT in teaching. I have provided coaching for an NQTs, mentored teacher trainees, aspiring teachers and learning support assistants. I have a proven track record of partnership working with staff from the mainstream school where our satellite class is based. I have also gained experience in working with parents and a range of other professionals including therapists, visual impairment specialist, dietitians, the specialist teaching team, subject leaders from other schools, maths advisors and governors. I took part in a Teacher’s International Professional Development Programme (TIPD) by visiting schools in Switzerland. This was a golden opportunity to compare and contrast all aspects of education with a completely different but rather successful system.Having worked in a range of schools including inner city school, a federated school, a village school and an SEN school, I have gained good experience and knowledge of different challenges that these schools face.
