Bostjan has 17 years advisory experience on the issues of data protection and privacy, telecoms market regulation, and lately AI ethics, having helped innovative tech businesses, telcos, and regulators from East London Tech City and Central Europe to Silicon Valley and the Gulf.During his career, he advised the Presidency of the Council of the EU on the 2009 review of the regulatory framework for electronic communications, was member of EU Communications Committee (CoCom), and the head of the telecoms division of the Slovenian convergent communications regulator, where he spearheaded the transformation of the broadband market to vibrant and sustainable competition.He holds Queen Mary, University of London PhD in the regulation of Next Generation Networks, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation, and is IAPP-certified international privacy professional (CIPP/E). Understanding the importance of knowledge transfer, he is the author of the chapter on corporate cloud communications in Walden: Telecommunications Law and Regulation (Oxford University Press, 2018) and co-author of the telecoms chapter in Korah: Competition Law of the European Union (LexisNexis). He teaches European and International Telecommunications Law at Queen Mary, University of London Distance Learning LLM programme.
