A proven leader and strategist, Sara Bosse has been a leader in upstream public health work in California since 1998, initiating and sustaining local and regional policy, systems, and environmental change interventions that create healthy communities. Sara leads and serves with passion anchored in her faith. She is known for her ability to engage partners, facilitate collaboration, and develop innovative strategies to tackle complex social, economic and public health issues. As the Director of the Madera County Department of Public Health, Sara Bosse oversees all department functions including disease investigation and mitigation, disaster planning and response, community medical services, community health and wellness programs, human resources, and contracting and fiscal functions. From 20••••21, Bosse led the Department through construction of a new campus and the first and only physical move of the Department, followed by the COVID-19 pandemic.In addition to her professional leadership, Sara serves on several boards and commissions. With her husband Ephiram and five children, Sara is enjoys traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and puzzles of all kinds. Sara pursues a life of purpose and a culture of honor.
