As Event Director of the Data Science and AI Club at Western Michigan University, I lead the planning, coordination, and execution of events that promote student engagement with artificial intelligence, data science, and emerging technologies. In this leadership role, I work closely with fellow executive members to design and implement initiatives that bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application.Key responsibilities include:• Organizing technical workshops, speaker panels, hackathons, and networking sessions involving industry professionals and academic experts.• Coordinating logistics, communication, and event promotion across multiple campus platforms and social media.• Collaborating with departments, student organizations, and external partners to drive participation and engagement.• Leading strategic event planning, budgeting, and feedback analysis to improve the quality and impact of our initiatives.This role has helped me strengthen my project management, team coordination, and communication skills while actively contributing to a vibrant, interdisciplinary tech community at WMU.
