ABOUT DARREN BORROWMAN
An independent filmmaker and educator with a passion for visual storytelling & bringing ideas to life. My 15+ year career has included a focus on storytelling and education through filmmaking and have had the privilege to work around the world, from Alberta to Iceland, China to Mexico and back home to Vancouver. For over a decade I have been working with students at the Vancouver Film School in a variety of instructor, administrative and mentoring roles, concurrently focussing efforts on creating independent films of varying genres and formats. Before making movies, I worked for over ten years in eco-tourism: whale watching in BC, ski patrolling and guiding in the French Alps and tour guiding throughout France. Whether working with students, alumni and staff at Vancouver Film School, helping fellow filmmakers with their projects or planning my own films, I am driven by my passion for connecting with people and telling our stories. Continuously in pursuit of life-long learning and professional development.
