Reporting to the Group Chief Risk Officer, the core objective of this role is to ensure that all models used throughout Euroclear, a key European Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI), are trusted and of the highest quality to drive solid business decisions and results. • Responsible for maintaining and continually improving the Model Risk Management framework, and identifying and mitigating potential model-related threats to the enterprise. • Leading a team of quantitative professionals who validate highly complex model applications, which are used for broad business purposes (e.g, economic/regulatory capital, CECL, credit portfolio management, transaction monitoring, sanctions-screening, etc.). • Plan the design of the production of each validation project, tailoring its scope to the nature of the underlying model, its impact and most important model risks. • Supervise the execution of validation report production by team members including providing technical direction and oversight of the work done. • Ensure the team maintains complete and accurate information in the model inventory system. • Communicate the results of the Model Risk Management activities to senior management, helping model owners and users understand which models are fit for purpose, highlighting areas of concern. • Sharing technical knowledge with colleagues in and outside of Risk Management through continuous training and communication. • Interacting with Euroclear’s regulators, clients or external auditors on model-related initiatives and issues.
