ABOUT MATTHEW BORDEN
I specialize in plant problem diagnostics and integrated pest management research. My experience spans highly regarded public gardens, beekeeping, tree fruit management, urban landscape studies, and answering thousands of questions from gardeners and growers. My current work at the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory focuses on tree and shrub pathology and nematology in residential and commercial landscapes, where I strive to apply my skills in field diagnostics and prescription. With a Doctorate of Plant Medicine and an MS in Entomology & Nematology from the University of Florida, I believe that multidisciplinary training and public education facilitates commonality and a better understanding of pest and disease management goals for plant health.Controversial opinion? Boxwood are the best, hedges are the answer, and tending a garden is one of our deepest, primal purposes (Gen 2:15).
