ABOUT BORAN FAN
I received my B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University in 2013 and 2018. In 2018, I joined the Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), Virginia Tech as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and became a Research Scientist in 2021 and a Research Assistant Professor in 2023. I am currently working on medium-voltage power conversion technology covering topology, auxiliary circuitry, insulation technique, advanced control, and intelligent communication and control systems; Aircraft powertrain converters covering multiphase drive, EMI mitigation, high-density electric drive train (EDT) integration, thermal management, and high-altitude insulation technique.
