ABOUT BONNIE COHEN LAFAZAN

Bonnie Cohen Lafazan graduated from Rutgers University in 1993 with a dual major in Journalism and Political Science and received her Juris Doctorate degree in 1996 from New England School of Law in Boston, MA. After a career as a contracts and licensing attorney working at several entertainment companies including ABC News, BMG Entertainment Group, New Line Cinema and MTV Networks, she went on to receive her Masters in Library Information Science from Pratt Institute in New York, New York. She also taught Communications Law and Internet Law courses online at New York University and University of Maryland. Ms. Lafazan most recently was the Library Director at Berkeley College\'s Woodbridge, NJ campus where she was responsible for the overall operation and supervision of the campus library, including overseeing the budget, services, collection development, staffing, information literacy instruction and outreach/programming. Ms. Lafazan lectures and presents at library conferences locally and nationally, focusing on creating library programming, digital literacy and community engagement. Ms. Lafazan most recent presentations include: “Off the Ropes and Away from the Desk: How to Lead the Way for Lifelong Learning Through Successful Programming” at the 2014 NJ VALE Academic Librarians Conference at Rutgers University; “Engaging Stories Info Blitz” at the Internet Librarian Conference in Monterey, CA; and “Providing Engaging Learning Opportunities in the Online Environment: From Faculty Outreach to Student Success” at the 2015 NJ VALE Academic Librarians Conference at Rutgers University.
