ABOUT BONIA LEUNG

As a sustainability professional, my main interests include sustainability strategy development and circular economy. I enable the circular economy transition on a strategic level by advising measures to reduce waste generation and enhance recycling in supply chains of various industries. My experience includes market research and quantitative projection of waste generation and carbon emissions, regulatory review and impact assessment for goods and products with a focus on extended producer responsibility and the formulation of sustainability strategies for product and process design and waste management informed by material end-of-life analyses. I am also able to provide advisory for asset investment by benchmarking waste management strategies and performing carbon modelling of waste management facilities. Through my involvement of the planning and review of waste management policies for the Hong Kong government and various private organisations, I was successful in educating and facilitating clients and stakeholders by using policy tools to transition into a circular economy on a strategic level. My experience also include the planning of waste management facilities in Hong Kong, conducting EHS field assessments and wastewater management. I aspire to promote and inspire the transition to a circular economy and advance in sustainable development by delivering high quality and comprehensive assessments for my clients to assist their sustainable operation and processes.
