Co-Lead Portfolio Manager on all passive equity strategies and Portfolio Manager on the systematic active ETFs at Manulife Investment Management. On the passive side, manage over 10 strategies across 70 portfolios with a total AUM of $65 billion CAD. Manage all aspects of equity indexing strategies to ensure that portfolios track their benchmarks within prescribed tracking errors. On the alternative investment space, manage the Bloomberg Commodity Roll Select Index fund. Execute program trades and daily cash equitization strategies while monitoring risk. The role also involves derivative and FX trading with respect to US and International hedged indices. On the quantitative side, member of the team that launched the first internally managed ETFs at Manulife and responsible for the day-to-day management/monitoring of a suite of active factor-based strategies. Platform grew from C$10M to C$1.2B within 5 years. Support the research efforts on factors that exhibit strong risk-adjusted return characteristics with a focus on income-oriented and defensive strategies in the US, Canadian, and international markets.
