Genetic Engineering Undergraduate | Cancer Genetics | Molecular & Translational ResearchI am a Genetic Engineering undergraduate driven by one core question: how do molecular changes turn a normal cell into a disease, and how can we intervene early and precisely? I am deeply curious about how tiny changes at the genetic level can lead to dramatically different life outcomes—from lethal diseases like cancer to extraordinary developmental processes. What fascinates me most is how a single mutation or regulatory shift can reroute a cell’s destiny, whether that results in uncontrolled proliferation in cancer or the remarkable biology of structures like the placenta that support life in utero.My scientific interests span cancer genetics, human genetic disorders, and neonatal genetics, with a special interest in learning how molecular signals shape health, disease, and development. I thrive on asking big questions: how genetic and epigenetic systems maintain balance, why they fail, and how we can intervene with therapies rooted in deep biological understanding.I aim to grow as a researcher who bridges fundamental biology with translational insight — learning advanced wet lab techniques, computational reasoning, and critical scientific thinking along the way.
