I lead Microsoft\'s Azure Data Analytics, building the Fabric engines for data engineering, Power BI, and our AI-powered analytics infrastructure.My path started in Romania with degrees in Math and Computer Science, then a PhD in Machine Learning. That decision to cross an ocean shaped everything that followed—eight years in startups, eighteen at Microsoft, and work that resulted in 22 patents along the way.What drives me is making sophisticated technology accessible. My team rearchitected Synapse into a modern data warehouse, a flexible and efficient Spark engine, and is now building agentic AI that reasons over data. Before this, I led engineering for Power BI as it grew from an idea to a product used globally, and earlier created Microsoft Analysis Services.I\'m interested in how AI transforms decision-making at scale and in advising companies pushing the boundaries of data and AI.Let\'s connect if you\'re working on the future of data, AI, or analytics.
