ABOUT BODEQUIA SIMON
I am Bodequia Simon, a Licensed Master Social Worker and visionary creator of Black Girls in Social Work. With a diverse Social Work background in child welfare, mental health, hospice, and medical settings, I bring transformative ideas and expertise in program design and implementation. As a rural county’s first Library Social Worker, I integrated social work practices within the library system to connect individuals with vital resources. Through Black Girls in Social Work, I’ve built a thriving online community providing pivotal resources and advancing opportunities to over Black women that are Social Work professionals and emerging students. I am also an author and social work advocate, dedicated to breaking barriers for emerging social workers and educating the masses on our contributions to society.
