About Bob von der Linn
I like to think of myself as a “seasoned veteran” who’s pretty much seen it all in a 35 year career devoted exclusively to improving individual and organizational effectiveness. I can safely claim expertise in the three following disciplines: Organizational Change Management (OCM) I had the good fortune of learning GE’s Change Acceleration Process (CAP) over 25 years ago from one of its creators, Steve Kerr, during my time at GE’s Crotonville Leadership Development center. I now practice a unique blend of CAP with Prosci’s ADKAR model, Kotter’s 8-Step Model and William Bridge’s Transitions. Organizational Development (OD) I consider my formal education in writing performance and learning objectives to be invaluable. Having the framework and language for accurately describing human performance has enabled me to successfully analyze and communicate performance issues. Similarly, I have applied that education and my experience to the design and facilitation of countless interventions incorporating tools such as DISC, StrengthsFinder, MBTI and various Social Styles assessments to bridge the ubiquitous “Knowing-Doing Gap” Process Improvement With Engineering in my undergraduate background, and immersion in Lean Six Sigma during my twelve years at GE, I am a process evangelist. Almost everything can be described as a process, and can consequently be analyzed and improved. Contrary to the typical workplace mythology, process discipline does not stifle creativity or slow you down, applied smartly it actually enables speed and innovation.
