ABOUT BOB MENLOVE
You can build a career with discipline, credentials, and intellect — and still not find your vocation.I know because I lived it. Armed with a chemist’s mindset, 3 years in auditing and finance, a diploma in IT and a Masters, and even a stint in the city… I still couldn’t find my tribe. I had the discipline to survive in the civil service, but no passion for the paperwork. I couldn’t see what my brain was being trained for.I thought applying knowledge, rigour and delivery discipline would be enough. It wasn’t. Expertise alone doesn’t separate you — not when organisations are unaligned, cultures are resistant, or markets are shifting under your feet. I knew the principles. Didn’t mean anyone was paying, hiring, or buying. My turning point?I stopped trying to “fit” the system and started shaping it. I put project discipline into practice in a way that created profit and public value. I built visions people could follow. And it worked. Organisations wanted outcomes integrated into their ecosystem, aligned to their market needs — not just documents and process.Since then, I’ve spent decades recovering, stabilising and delivering complex programmes across Government, Education, Health, Energy, Logistics, Banking and Enterprise — often from the shadows, often when delivery confidence has collapsed or political/public accountability is on the line. What I do now.I help organisations understand where they really are as the foundation for bringing in AI responsibly — with strategy, governance, data discipline, and operating models that can withstand regulatory, ethical and commercial pressure. It’s not an easy journey and not for the faint-hearted. But it’s the only path that works.Across 30 years, I’ve helped:> Stabilise a £76M cloud & data transformation> Recover a £50M software division later sold for £400M> Define ambulance and health strategies, rebuild education data systems, and advise national regulators> Deliver high-stakes enterprise transformation with Microsoft and global partners.AI is here — but organisations aren’t ready.I help leaders prepare, adapt, and build cultures where humans stay accountable, resilient and ready for the disruption ahead. If you want to move forward together, connect and DM me.Focus Areas: Public Sector | Education | Cloud Transformation | Recovery Leadership | Digital Change | AI for Organisations
