About Bob Marquis

Bob Marquis is an award-winning director and editor.In 2013, he was named the Arizona Filmmaker of the Year by the Phoenix Film Foundation for his impact on the Arizona filmmaking community. He teaches filmmaking at Metro Tech High School and serves as the Student Education Director for the Phoenix Film Festival and IFP Phoenix. He founded and served as the Executive Director of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Sailbear Labs.

   I am the digital filmmaking teacher at Metro Tech High School. The program is based on a philosophy of collaboration, creativity and problem solving. Students enrolled in this program learn the techniques and technology involved in the digital film industry and gain extensive practice developing these skills.In addition, I serve as the Instructional Leader for a team of 15 CTE instructors, actively representing the department and school in curriculum, personnel decisions, budget, and communicating school policy and initiatives.
