About Bobby Kotick

Bobby Kotick, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, is recognized as the Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard. He served as CEO for more than 32 years, the longest CEO tenure with any public technology company. Under his leadership, Activision consistently delivered strong financial results and increased shareholder value. An investment in Activision made at the end of 1991 would have been worth nearly five times the increase seen by the S&P 500 in 2023.In 1991, Bobby Kotick became the CEO of Activision, a nearly bankrupt company. Shortly after assuming the role, Mr. Kotick developed a restructuring plan to save the company from its dire financial situation. Between 2006 and 2008, Bobby Kotick led a merger with Vivendi Games and became CEO of the newly formed Activision Blizzard.Driven by Bobby Kotick’s vision, Activision Blizzard grew to be one of the world’s most successful video game companies. The company made several FORTUNE lists during Mr. Kotick’s leadership, including “100 Best Companies to Work For” and “World’s Most Admired Companies.”After serving as the CEO for more than three decades, Bobby Kotick retired from Activision Blizzard in December 2023 to focus on philanthropic priorities. Mr. Kotick is the Co-Founder of the Call of Duty Endowment, a nonprofit that helps veterans find high-quality careers after military service and raises awareness of the value veterans bring to the workplace. Since 2009, the Endowment has placed more than veterans into jobs. The Call of Duty Endowment is one of the most respected veterans organizations in the nonprofit sector. It was awarded the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency for seven years and won AdAge’s “Best Work for Good, Brand” award in 2024.Bobby Kotick’s other philanthropic interests include the arts, education, and medical research.
