Interested in all things geopolitics… As a Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) HQ, I leverage my public affairs experience in the Navy to develop and coordinate strategic communication guidance for U.S. Department of Defense operations, exercises, and security cooperation on the African continent, its island nations, and surrounding waters. I serve as the public affairs liaison between the AFRICOM staff, subcomponents, U.S. interagency and international partners, and synchronize public affairs strategy, planning, and execution to meet mission demands.Previously, I was the Director of Public Affairs for U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command at Stennis Space Center, where I led public affairs activities that supported the commander’s goals of recruiting talent, highlighting the work of our 2500 scientists, engineers, and technicians, and educating internal and external audiences on the missions and capabilities we bring to the fight. Over the years, I have communicated with members of the press, military and civilian personnel, and counterparts in foreign navies, and supported U.S. Navy outreach through traditional and news media channels. While at Naval Forces Europe and Africa, I produced the award-winning podcast \"On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theaters\" that showcased the naval expertise and perspectives of Admiral Foggo, the commander of NAVEUR/NAVAF.
