Organizing (current): Respond to calls and contacts from interested prospective members of the HSA. Collaboratively plan and help execute external non-union organizing campaigns with a focus on recruitment and mentorship of workplace inside committees. Collaboratively plan and help execute internal member organizing and member engagement campaigns with a focus on recruitment and support of workplace leadership teams. Assist the HSA Legal Department on matters pertaining to new certification applications, hearings and other Labour Relations Board proceedings.Servicing: Support health care specialists by informing them about their collective agreement rights and obligations as union members of the HSA. Provide contract interpretation and labour relations advice to assist stewards with the grievance process while serving as the primary spokesperson for the union at grievance meetings. Liaise with health care employer representatives to establish a positive working relationship and to assist in resolving grievances and workplace problems. Assist the HSA Legal Department on matters pertaining to arbitration hearings and Labour Relations Board proceedings.*HSA is a union representing more than professionals working in health care and community social services in the province of British Columbia.
