This position is responsible for the preparation of detailed cost estimates for new private and public commercial construction projects and manage the progress of existing projects. Additionally, working along with the Project Managers and Superintendents, this position will include PM support ensuring the success of the project from inception to close-out. Responsibilities include all aspects of the project including the cost, schedule, quality, and safety.Essential FunctionsEstimatingActively pursue new project opportunitiesPrepare bid documentation including solicitation of bids from material vendors and subcontractorsPerform accurate takeoffs and estimatesIdentify labor, material, and time requirements by studying bid documentation, plans, specifications, and other related material.Thoroughly investigate the most cost-effective materials and methods for the bidding and execution of each projectSubmitting requests for information to clarify existing conditions, proposed improvements and any additional information, as necessary, to arrive at a complete & thorough estimateResponsible for the preparation of bid proposal for submittalPerforms site visits on future bids to determine existing conditions and proposed scope of workEnsure engineering standards and all relevant specifications and governmental regulations commitments are being met.Negotiate favorable prices, terms, and conditionsProviding value engineering options to optimize successful contract award opportunitiesPrepare thorough documentation files for hand-off to PM department for implementation of projectsProject ManagementAssist in all ways to expedite and facilitate the successful start, progress, and completion of all construction projectsPrepare project buy outCreate Master Project Milestone ScheduleMonitor Superintendents schedules and productivities to ensure conformance with the project budget.Take point on creation and implementation of processes and procedures.
