About Bobby Galindo
Bobby Galindo has developed a unique set of skills and experience using a technical engineering perspective to supplement an entrepreneurial yet pragmatic approach to risk management within the energy sector of the commercial insurance marketplace. Bobby has earned respect in the both the Builders Risk underwriting marketplace and as an Energy Loss Control Engineer. As a leader of Builder\'s Risk underwriting at Starr Companies, Bobby’s location in Houston and history within Energy loss control much of Bobby’s success occurred within the Energy space. Bobby crafted and led numerous bespoke builders risk programs developing solutions to fit nuanced unique problems from managing the needs of mega-multi-billion dollar LNG projects (e.g. Corpus Christi Liquefaction, Venture LNG), to assessing and underwriting the newer challenges that arise when working within the expanding renewables industry (e.g. Hecate Energy Solar, Global Clean Energy Biodiesel). Within Loss Control as both a third party consultant (BakerRisk) and then as a carrier representative (Starr Technical Risks Agency), Bobby performed engineering surveys and inspections at refineries and petrochemical facilities all over the world, developing relationships with companies such as Phillips 66, Equate, CPChem, QatarChem, Valero, and Magellan Midstream. Bobby’s career began at Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants (BakerRisk) after earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Vapor cloud explosion (VCE) modeling, Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and assessment, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Insurance Risk Engineering (IRE) all shaded with a consulting lens created a unique and un-paralleled foundation. That foundation when supplemented with engineering and underwriting experience with Starr cured into a perspective that can review and address the complex challenges surfacing ubiquitously in Risk Management of the Energy sector through both engineering and an underwriting lens. More often, success occurring with the combination of the two to find the most effective solution available, even when that requires product development in addition to negotiation.
