ABOUT BOB WOOLLEY

Head of SHE & Q with extensive experience across explosives manufacturing and drilling & blasting service delivery, operating in high-hazard environments including Upper Tier COMAH and licensed explosives sites. I lead integrated SHE & Q programmes that strengthen process safety, assure legal compliance, and improve operational resilience across multi-site, multi-country operations.My focus is on translating risk into practical controls: major accident hazard governance, robust safety case delivery, effective contractor management, and assurance frameworks that stand up to regulator and internal scrutiny. I’m equally comfortable on the plant, in the quarry, or in the boardroom - aligning leadership teams to clear standards, measurable performance, and a culture that treats process safety as a core operational discipline.Key strengths include:• Process safety leadership: MAH identification, critical control management, PHA/HAZOP support, and performance standards.• COMAH leadership: safety case ownership, ALARP demonstration, MAPP/PSMS, emergency planning, and regulator engagement.• Explosives and blasting risk control: licensed activities, storage and handling governance, blasting assurance, and competency systems• SHE & Q management systems: auditing, investigations, learning systems, and continuous improvement.• People and capability: coaching leaders, training strategy, competency frameworks, and assessor/verification experience
