I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve accepted a new role at Duke Energy, as a Program Manager for the K-12 Energy Efficiency program. This initiative empowers students in grades K-12 across our communities to learn about energy conservation and efficiency in engaging ways.Through a partnership with Bright Star Touring Theatre, professional actors bring fun, comical, and informative live performances directly to students, teaching the importance of using energy wisely (full of bad dad jokes and puns which I appreciate). Each show comes with grade-appropriate student workbooks and teacher guides, making it easy to extend learning beyond the stage and bring it back to the classroom.After the performance, students are encouraged to involve their families by signing up for a free Home Energy Efficiency Kit—helping turn classroom lessons into real-world action and reinforcing energy-saving habits at home. These kits help reduce your energy consumption at home and which should reduce your energy bill. I’m excited to support a program that blends education, community impact, and sustainability. Leveraging my experience and connections in the K-12 sector, I look forward to helping the program grow, recruiting new schools and students, and expanding our offerings.
