I am a practicing litigation attorney, but I am also an avid stone sculptor when time permits. I often joke that the law allows me to pay my bills, but scultping allows me to remain grounded and sane during the process. Some of my work is pictured below.

   I have recently retired from the active practice of law, although I will maintain my license to practice. As such, I will still handle various cases from time to time as circumstances may warrant. From this point forward, I will concentrate on other business ventures, including the operation and management of my new company, AUGUSTUS HOMES, LLC, which is dedicated to the purchase, quality restoration, and sale of various real properties. For those who don\'t know me, I graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in December of 1981. During my time as a law student, I was chosen to serve as a research assistant to Professor John C. Payne. I was also a member of the staff of THE JOURNAL OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION, which was chaired by Professor Harry Cohen. After graduation from law school, I was employed as a corporate attorney for an oil and gas exploration company for approximately seven years, during which time I regularly practiced before the Alabama Oil and Gas Board. I have been a practicing litigation attorney in private practice since 1988. In 1993, I was selected as County Attorney for Escambia County, Alabama while I lived in South Alabama. In 2003, I also authored two fiction novels, entitled THE PRESUMPTION and THE NUMBER THIRTEEN. Over the years, I\'ve written various articles that have appeared in titles such as ALABAMA WILDLIFE and other publications.In 2006, I authored DIVORCE AND FAMILY LAW IN ALABAMA, which was published in order to assist the non-lawyer in understanding the workings of Alabama\'s legal system pertinent to divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and other relevant issues. Over the years, I have invested in various companies, and I continue to do so as opportunities arise or are discovered.
