ABOUT BOB BINGAMAN
Originally from west Texas, Bob Bingaman (he/him) describes himself as a progressive, populist, organizer. For 30 years, Bingaman served as National Organizing Director and then Senior Field Director. Bob co-lead the Sierra Club\'s Senior Federal Organizing Program, political field programs and the Grassroots Network. For 28 years Bingaman served as the Sierra Club\'s National Organizing Director.the largest grassroots, political environmental organization in the United States. Bingaman has over 40 years of grassroots organizing experience. Bingaman has served as a member of the U.S. Student Association (USSA) Board of Directors (1980-82), served as a member of the USSA Foundation Board (1991-94), served as staff for USSA\'s State Student Associations in Kansas and Pennsylvania (1979-82), and served on the national field organizing staff of USSA (1982-85). Bingaman has served as an organizer for the National Clean Air Coalition (1985). From 1989 to 1993, Bingaman served as National Field Director for the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL). Bingaman also served as NARAL Legislative Representative (19••••89). Bingaman also served for nearly a decade as Co-Chair of the Utah Wilderness Coalition, a coalition dedicated to preserving and protecting 9 million acres of Utah\'s wilderness. Bob was Vice-Chair of the Environmental Support Center, an organization dedicated to providing organizational capacity building assistance to environmental justice and local, state and regional environmental advocacy organizations. For nearly 20 years, Bingaman served as Vice-Chair to the Board of Directors of Green Corps, an organization dedicated to training the next generation of professional environmental organizers. He received the first ever \"Honorary Degree\" from Green Corps (Aug 2012).\"On loan\" from the Sierra Club, Bingaman served as National Field Director for the environmental community\'s Clean Energy Works (CEW) campaign (20••••10). Served on the Australian Community Organizing Fellowship Reference Group/Board of Directors (20••••19), the USCAN Organizing Hub Advisory Board (20••••18), and the Climate Action Campaign (CAC) Steering Committee (20••••23). Bingaman was the Co-Lead of the Sierra Club\'s Diversity Steering Committee and was a member of the Staff Diversity Team (20••••16). Awards include: Sierra Club’s Mike McCloskey and Special Achievement Awards; the 10th Anniversary Award from the Sierra Student Coalition (SSC) and the Sierra Club Foundation with their Award for Staff Excellence.
