About Bill Babcock

I\'ve backed away from the day-to-day operation of Babcock & Jenkins. The company immediately started doing extremely well-which is testimony to my management and leadership skills (huh?). The team running B&J is the best that we\'ve ever had, and I\'m enormously proud of every one of them.In the meantime I\'m playing very hard. I live six months of the year in Maui where I\'m perfecting my windsurfing, surfing, stand-up paddle surfing, diving, sailing, and fishing skills. Which will all help greatly in my future career as a beach bum. In the summer I play in the Columbia River in the wonderful town of Hood River, and race my somewhat infamous vintage race car, Peyote (really, that\'s it\'s name-since 1959). You can read about it in my emagazines which I\'ll get around to updating real soon now: (Xtreme Geezer)). This year I started playing around with drone quadcopters, and that got me into working on embedded systems and electronics, playing with Arduinos and other microcontrollers, which led to developing a radio controlled rudder and autopilot for my downwind Stand Up Paddle board. In between surfing, doing downwind stand up paddleboard runs, and racing my SUP. I\'m ridiculously busy for a retired guy. All the best. If you\'re ever in Maui drop by for a Mai Tai, or Hood River in the summer-out on the river doing something. In the meantime, enjoy. Life is not a rehearsal.

   I retired from Babcock & Jenkins about five years ago. My wife Diane Babcock (formerly Jenkins) and I remain on the board, but the company is run by Denise Barnes, President and a group of hugely capable senior staff. The company continues to be the most intensely nerdy and capable marketing agency I\'ve ever encountered. They just get better and better. I don\'t think I could get a job as an intern there. Im hugely proud of them and their accomplishments, which have very little to do with me.
