About Beth Ann Murphy

My passion for science grew strong early on as a student - where I proudly claimed the label, “science geek.” It’s never faltered. I harness that passion as a scientific educator, advisor, consultant, and mentor. I help individuals and companies put scientific ideas into a business framework. I teach about the importance of science and how we can use it as a tool to help the world.A 25-year career at Merck gave me a holistic understanding of drug discovery and development, and I have successfully brought multiple drug discovery programs to key decision points. In 2018, I launched BAM Consulting to apply my industry-gained expertise. As an advisor and consultant, I work closely with academic founders and funders to develop scientifically valid and commercially viable business plans. I help individuals and companies put scientific ideas into a business framework.As an educator, I love to share my enthusiasm for science and am an empathetic mentor, supporting students through their academic journey. My mission is to create a scientifically aware generation with the ability to think critically and question. Through it all, I lead with a high ethical compass. This has been a guiding force throughout my career and serves to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and clients. I am eager to share my industry, scientific and business experiences to help others achieve their goals.I’m innovative, creative, and a skilled communicator, bringing clarity to complex scientific concepts to multiple types of audiences.
