About Bala Mulloth

Dr. Bala Mulloth is an internationally recognized educator, innovator, and entrepreneur with a global perspective, having lived and worked in Asia, Europe, and North America. His research and teaching focus on social entrepreneurship and innovation, and he currently serves as an Associate Professor of Management at the Ralph W. Ketner School of Business at Catawba College.He is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Hava, a materials science venture that creates advanced fabrics to help people breathe clean air, and a Research Fellow at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. Previously, he was a faculty member for 10 years at the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, where he taught and researched social innovation and entrepreneurship.Earlier in his career, he was a faculty member in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary, and the Program Director of CEU’s experiential New York City MBA program. He has also held roles as a Visiting Faculty Fellow at the National Defense University and as Senior Manager at NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Office of Innovation Development, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship.He earned his PhD in Technology Management from NYU Tandon.
