ABOUT BRUNO CORMACK

25+ years in IT, and still standing — which is saying a lot given I’ve lived through everything from dial-up modems to defending cloud workloads from attackers with too much free time. I’ve survived (and occasionally enjoyed) multiple generations of data tools, architectural \"paradigm shifts,\" and that time we all thought Hadoop would save the world.These days, my focus is on Cloud Security and Azure architecture — designing, governing, and protecting large-scale cloud environments for the kind of financial institution that makes regulators sweat less when things are well-locked down.I currently serve as a Senior Manager, leading cloud security initiatives with a strong foundation in metadata management, governance, and data protection strategies across Azure. Translation: I make sure sensitive stuff stays safe, compliant, and doesn\'t accidentally end up in a public blob.My earlier years were all about BI, data warehouses, reporting systems, and datalakes — basically organizing chaos and calling it \"analytics.\" I still draw on that experience daily when securing data flows, building threat models, and explaining to teams why \"default settings\" are usually a bad idea.I got my start as a curious teenager exploring the web\'s darker corners — the kind who have seen (from very close) a defaced IIS servers or two. That early tinkering evolved into a passion for understanding how systems can be built, broken, and rebuilt stronger.Now, I use that mindset to lead cloud security strategy, drive zero trust adoption, and help build resilient systems that don’t just meet standards — they exceed expectations (and occasionally survive a pentest /red-team without crying).
