ABOUT AIDAN J. MCLAUGHLIN

Studying at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University. Majoring in Public Management, Leadership, and Public Policy with a minor in Science and Engineering in the Public Interest as well as a specialization in Community Organization and Civic Engagement including being on the Pre-Law Track- I plan on using this education as a stepping stone to attending Law School as I serve in the Ohio Army National Guard to become a commissioned officer in the Judge Advocate\'s General Corps practicing administrative law- This goal and my passion to bring more attention, engagement, and justice to the minority communities within the United States has led me to be a student leader within the Undergraduate Student Government as a Regional Campus Liasion, Military/Veteran Emissary Senator, and to be apart of the Student Experience Committee in Black Caucus- As well as developing my own personal and professional values with my membership as a brother in the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon, I have grown to understand how a community can uplift, support, and provide mutual aid for each other in order to establish unity, comradery, and equity in a diverse environment- My participation on the Student Conduct Board educated me on the perspectives I must have and hold as I represent myself, the university, and the country as I evolve to become a future leader in the field of public administration and the armed forces- Lastly, the practical experience I am gaining through my internship allows me to grasp how to take the immeasurable and compartmentalize each step into something tangible that can be progressed on through time and proper management as it is a necessary step into establishing and implementing public policy throughout society.
