WORK HISTORY
Research Scientist @Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
ON, CA
I have been working at the Hydrogen Technologies Branch (formerly Chemical Engineering Branch).•I have mainly focused on the application of my knowledge and expertise in catalysis and process engineering to process and technology development activities in the following key areas: Hydrogen Production: Process development for the Copper-Chlorine thermochemical hydrogen production process. My main focus was on the development, scale-up and integration of a flow reactor for the hydrolysis step of the process and the preliminary safety assessment of the full process. Clean Fuels Production: Assessment (Techno-economic and environmental) of the different fuels production processes (Hydrogen, Ammonia, Bio/Renewable Diesel, Sustainable Aviation Fuels) and the potential of integration of nuclear energy with the production process to improve overall environmental performance. Assessment of flue gas clean-up processes and technologies. Hydrogen Safety: Experimental campaigns and analysis on the use of Passive Autocatalytic Recombiners (PARs) to mitigate hydrogen explosion in nuclear containments. Effects of ambient conditions on PARs performance in nuclear containments. Deployment of PARs for non-nuclear hydrogen safety applications. Development and application of PARs as hydrogen sensors, hydrogen safety codes and standards, etc. Hydrogen Storage: Development and scale-up of the NEC/12H-NEC Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) process for hydrogen storage and release. The project includes catalyst development, catalyst activity tests, process development and scale-up. Dry Reforming of Methane with CO2 for syngas production: Selection and assessment of various catalysts for activity towards the dry reforming of methane. The project includes thermodynamic analysis, catalysts characterization and experimental campaigns to study the effects of various process variables on selected catalyst activity, and analysis and ranking of catalysts activity.
