ABOUT BEN LECHLITNER

Hello, I am Ben Lechlitner (Leck-Light-Nur). Writing a summary of my work experience is… challenging, as I have held multiple roles throughout my career. In attempted summary: I have been an employee of multiple companies serving roles throughout the software development lifecycle. Software Engineer, DevOps Manager, QA Lead, Engineering Manager, and most recently, Director of Engineering. I have been up and down the SDLC, mostly on the FE side of the house. But, I enjoy building and being creative. Sometimes that’s a app. Sometimes that’s a spreadsheet. Sometimes it’s a sweatshirt design. I have been an IC on a team of 1 up to a Manager of Managers of Managers of a 70+ person organization spanning from California to Ukraine. I would consider myself self-reflective, humble, adaptable, and tend to lean towards the introvert on the ambivert scale. While I do consider myself to be humble, I do have skills. I believe my super power is empathy. I like working for smaller companies with smaller teams. Friends and family would describe me as playful, sarcastic with a dry wit, and dependable. I have learned to be more present with less distractions. My free time, mental and physical health, and family come first. Oh, and I double-space after the end of a sentence.Husband, father of two wonderful girls, runner (5am club), guitarist, video game enthusiast (I named one of our cats Link), traveler (at times, reluctant), gardener, occasional photographer, budding writer, and fervid reader. I am also a fan, in no particular order, of Penny Arcade (name dropped in Episode 52 of Penny for Your Thoughts!), Movies with Mikey, Star Wars, Star Trek, Mike Birbiglia, Tom Segura, Jim Gaffigan (fellow Hoosier), animation, Ars Technica, Conan O’Brien, and dogs.
