About Blakley Pate

The background photo in my profile is is a photo I took while at a train station in Paris after traveling by train from London. I took this photo because the neon pink \"I want my time with you\" gave me a sense of beauty within the ordinary and I believe we can all find beauty in the world around us if we just stop to look for one moment. The photo is also representative of the fact that travel is important to me. One goal of mine was to study abroad while at TCU so that I can get an international perspective on business, specifically Marketing, and immerse myself in the beauty and culture of another country. This was accomplished in the Spring of 2022, where I studied abroad in Rome at John Cabot University and challenged my global perspective and flexibility in a new culture. In addition to majoring in Marketing, I am working on a Minor in Digital Culture and Data Analytics. One of my Professors inspired me to do this when she said that coding is a literature in and of itself, giving me a sense of wonder for the digital world our society is moving towards. So far, I have enjoyed working with Twine to develop text-based video games as well as Adobe Audition to make podcasts because of the ability to explore medias that connect with people in unique ways. I have also enjoyed expanding my knowledge of Python, SQL, Tableau, and Altyerx so as to develop my skill of making data-driven decisions to solve business problems. I am excited to look for a full-time position where I can combine these interests of mine and make strong connections with the people I work with.
