About Blake de Vries

Blake is a healthcare operations leader renowned for establishing cross-departmental relationships and driving committees to effective decisions and actions. He has expertise in workforce optimization, project management, and overseeing multi-million dollar SaaS implementations for small to enterprise size companies. Blake currently manages a diverse team responsible for a large portfolio of strategic projects, new vendors, prior authorization oversight for the enterprise, along with information systems for a department of 220+ individuals, including 120+ nurses. He reports directly to the chief medical officer and regularly collaborates with C-level executives and medical directors. Appointed an equity representative on the Intermountain Health AI Subcommittee, Blake reviews and approves AI efforts across the enterprise. Along with his advocacy for appropriate use of AI in healthcare, Blake\'s personal research interests surround healing in the home and operational efficacy of organizations that embrace a home health strategy. His masters capstone project provided a market analysis and recommendation for Intermountain Homecare in the Nevada market, leading to a successful acquisition recommendation in 2023.Blake\'s leadership style is characterized by listening with the intent to understand and building effective, responsible teams. Before transitioning to healthcare, Blake worked in various industries and roles, developing crucial skills in revenue attainment, information security and legal negotiation, revenue cycle management, and all methods of project management. His strengths contributed to increased company revenue in each of his past roles, whether through securing additional municipal projects or acquiring enterprise customers, such as Harvard University and JetBlue. His ability to provide objective consultation to clients was key to building mutually beneficial agreements and relationships. Blake holds an MHA from Weber State University and previously earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He is bilingual in Spanish and English. Residing in Millcreek, Utah, Blake and his wife are the parents of three energetic boys. He enjoys mountaineering, backcountry skiing, trail running, and biking with his family.Blake sets a challenging goal each year outside of work, with notable achievements including- WURL (Wasatch Ultimate Ridgeline Linkup)- 36.5 hours- Rim to rim of Grand Canyon - 7.25 hours- Cirque of the Towers Traverse - 22 hours, 13/15 peaks- The Grand Traverse of the Tetons - 3 days, 12 technical peaks
