   UF\'s Machine Intelligence Lab is a student-led engineering lab that designs, builds, and tests autonomous maritime vehicles for use in international competitions. The two main projects include the autonomous submarine \"Subjugator\" which competes in RoboSub and the autonomous boat \"NaviGator AMS\" which competes in RobotX.On the mechanical team, I have developed 3D design and manufacturing skills through overhauling outdated designs and creating new ones to better serve both SubjuGator and NaviGator in completing the current year\'s competition tasks. My main contributions to SubjuGator have included the design and manufacturing of a new gripper mechanism used to grab objects and place them in a certain location, testing assistance to gather data for the computer vision and stability control, and various other mechanism and structural components. My contributions to NaviGator AMS includes the design and construction of a landing pad for the autonomous drone to take off and land on at the beginning and end of its task during the competition, manufacturing of props for the training of the computer vision, and help testing the boat out on the water to set up environments as well as fixing any components out of place while operating.Gained CAD experience in large assemblies, and learned to cut down on unnecessary and overengineered designs in favor of more simplistic and fundamentally consistent designs that are more generally applicable. Learned to train computer vision models for pattern recognition and object association with certain actions.
