About Blake Zaragoza
Blake Zaragoza is a first-year PharmD candidate at the USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where he also earned his B.S. in Biopharmaceutical Sciences. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Blake is passionate about bridging science and strategy to improve global health through innovation in the pharmaceutical industry.During his undergraduate years, Blake gained hands-on experience in neurodegeneration research under Dr. Paul Seidler, exploring the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s Disease. His curiosity for how discoveries translate into real-world treatments sparked a growing interest in medical affairs and drug development, within pharmacy. Outside the classroom, Blake is actively involved in leadership roles that connect science, strategy, and global health. As a First-Year Board Representative for USC\'s Global Pharmacy Society, he collaborates with Dr. Terrence Graham to promote student engagement in international pharmacy initiatives and serves as a liaison between USC students and global opportunities in pharmaceutical sciences. He also leads a cross-functional Medical Affairs team in the USC SIA-IPhO VIP Case Competition, developing evidence-based strategies to support the launch of innovative therapies in gastroenterology.Blake aims to combine his scientific background, leadership experience, and entrepreneurial mindset to eventually pursue a career in global pharmaceutical product development, working with global strategy teams on therapies that make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives worldwide.
