About Blake Crosby
My mission is to use science and technology to make new discoveries to inform decisions that improve the overall well being of my clients. As a behavior analyst, I have been the lead consultant for dozens of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In this capacity, I am responsible for assessing their strengths and weaknesses, constructing treatment plans to target socially significant changes, and using rigorous data analysis to make adjustments based on the results. As a behavior analyst, I thoroughly enjoy training therapists and working with families to ensure the best possible outcomes for my clients. However, I have also employed the same systematic approach across a wide variety of disciplines. For example, I have developed my own Python computer applications that search astronomical databases looking for previously undiscovered variable stars. To date, I have seventy new classifications to my credit. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my application by incorporating new ideas, such as machine learning algorithms. I am particularly interested with this intersection between existing problems and the application of new technology. Even if a problem has already been solved, I enjoy the challenge of re-imagining an alternative elegant solution that is both useful and transparent for the consumer. For example, as a behavior analyst I oversaw the transition of my company\'s record keeping system from pen and paper to a completely digital format by creating and maintaining a database. While many such systems already exist, this approach allows my company to both save money and exert full control over what features are available. I am never satisfied with the status quo so I am excited to both seek out these types of challenges and overcome them in a way that adds value to the projects I am involved with.
