Molecular microbiologist and next-generation sequencing quality leader with a track record of translating complex genomics into clear, actionable value for diverse stakeholders. With an M.S. in Applied Environmental Microbiology from Georgia State University, I serve as Project Lead for the CDC’s Next Generation Sequencing Quality Initiative (NGS QI), driving adoption of quality systems and mNGS workflows across CDC and partner laboratories.Previously in CDC’s Biodefense Research and Development Laboratory (DPEI), I strengthened the Laboratory Response Network’s detection of antimicrobial resistance in biothreat pathogens and led pilot efforts in rapid nanopore (MinION) sequencing, including BSL-3 training across public health labs. Nationwide deployments sharpened my consultative approach building trust, aligning decision-makers, and delivering measurable outcomes in high‑consequence environments.In my current role, I lead governance, training, and resource development to improve quality management for mNGS workflows. I publish curated QMS materials, deliver high‑impact technical presentations, and contribute to scientific products that help stakeholders implement genomics with confidence.
