ABOUT BLAIR BUTTERFIELD
I have been fortunate to serve on the leadership team of five software companies, four boards of directors (public and private, for profit and not for profit), and as a senior advisor to two organizations. In several of these, I was a key contributor to successful product and market strategies that led to sector dominance. At the companies where I worked, I held executive roles in general management (P&L), new market and business development, government initiatives, strategic marketing, product strategy, and sales. Former Chairman at Wind River Advisory Group, member of the Healthcare Executive Network for LEK Consulting, and board member of Spōk (NASDAQ: SPOK), a global leader in clinical communications and collaboration where I served on the audit, compensation, cyber, and capital allocation committees. In prior years, I was President at VitalHealth Software, a Mayo Ventures company now a part of the population health portfolio of Philips Healthcare. Before that I was Vice President of International Development at GE Healthcare, where I co-founded the ehealth division, co-designed and patented the unique, economically sustainable HIE architecture, and led national ehealth infrastructure projects in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Previously I consulted to the leadership team of CBYON, which developed the most advanced and intuitive system for image guided neurosurgery using technology developed at Stanford University Medical School. I started my career as a founding employee at Vital Images, now a Canon company, where I was responsible for defining its initial business plan and strategic vision for groundbreaking solutions for 3D medical imaging.I have been a lifelong practitioner and am a Certified Teacher of Transcendental Meditation since 1979. I have personally instructed over 1400 people in this effortless, natural technique for unfolding our full latent potential, by releasing deep-rooted stresses and developing higher states of consciousness, as verified by hundreds of peer reviewed scientific studies. Born in Bermuda, and educated at Yale University, I have lived and worked in nine countries and worked in many more.
