ABOUT BLAIR KERLEY

In the Investment Management industry, there is no room for error. Overnight interest charges for failed trades on billions of dollars in daily cash transactions can amount to millions of dollars. My particular area of expertise is mitigating any impact that might arise as a result of adverse events and catastrophes. In particular, I am in charge of developing and maintaining a Business Continuity Management program (BCM) capable of protecting people, process and property for the worldwide organization. I joined Western Asset Management Company in 2001, at a time when the company had only an immature and limited Business Continuity plan in place. Since then, I have built a comprehensive and rationalized program that has successfully protected the organization from any business impacts in actual events ranging from natural disasters, bombings, pandemics and data corruption.I leveraged a restricted budget and limited resources to develop the program that provides the business operational resilience. Planning and developing the program is one part of my job. The other critical element to success is gaining buy-in from the business units for the Program. My communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills have been brought into play to socialize the program to the enterprise. In the early years at Western Asset, I had additional management responsibilities for facilities management, procurement, and contractor management. Prior to that, I was a General Manager for Sodexho Marriott administering a $3M budget and directing 61 culturally diverse staff.Specialties: BCM Program Development, ISO 22301 alignment, BCM Operations Management, Staff Management & Budgeting, IT Disaster Recovery (DR), Risk Assessment, Impact Based Planning, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), RTO Identification, Business Process Minimization, Incident Command System, Global Incident Response, BCM M&A Integration, Enterprise Risk Management, GRC Convergence with BCM, Vendor Management
