About Bradley Smith
Sports Medicine Specialist-Having originally been trained in Family Medicine, I bring a different perspective to sports medicine than the average orthopaedic surgeon. Through my extensive training in fellowship, and my exposure to musculoskeletal medicine throughout my medical career, I bring a total body approach to the athlete and non-athlete alike. I have worked with athletes of all levels. I joined Rothman Orthopaedic Instutite in June 2018, after having my own private practice for 6 years. Prior to that I worked in a prominent orthopedic group for 5 years after I finished my Sports Medicine fellowship. Fortunately, less than 20 % of common orthopedic complaints require surgery, and I enjoy managing the majority of conditions I see. I have training and experience in advanced and cutting edge non-surgical treatments, and I can successfully treat many conditions that might otherwise lead to surgery. While specializing in non-operative sports medicine, I am well trained to recognize which patients would benefit from surgery over non-surgical treatments, and I have a trusted network of surgeons to refer to that are capable of delivering the highest quality of care to my patients in those cases where surgery is indicated. I also specialize in concussion management and help guide \"return to play\" decisions for athletes with sports-related concussion, as well as many other injuries. By promoting preventative measures, I hope to decrease injury occurrence. By partnering with the patient in their rehab, I hope to speed recovery and get people “back in the game,” whether it be to return to the field of competition or to their favorite weekend activity.
