About Bert Frederich
Scientist with a strong background in discovery biology, in vivo pharmacology, assay development, oncology, and gene therapy seeking to advance a career in the biotechnology industry. I have held leadership positions in laboratory and classroom environments and have succeeded in publishing first in field research.Translational Research PhysiologistEmail: b••••••••@gmail.comI have a strong record of creative problem solving in biomedical research. I have a wide range of research experience in in vivo and in vitro disease models including assay development and optimization. I am also skilled in public speaking and presentation and have won several awards communicating my research to diverse audiences.CORE COMPETENCIES• Preclinical Pharmacology• IND enabling studies and reports• In vivo gene therapy• Oncology (small molecule and IO)• Assay Development (in vitro and in vivo)• In Vivo Research and Survival Surgeries • In Vitro Functional Assays• Primary Cell Harvest and Culture• Stem Cell Biology• Fibrosis Research• Pulmonary Research• Cardiovascular Research• Vascular Barrier DysfunctionACCOMPLISHMENTSI conducted IND enabling studies and wrote reports for a successful submission of a precision oncology small molecule. I built the platform for in vivo renal gene therapy using ultrasound guided non-viral gene delivery.I have succeeded in publishing first in field research, with an ex vivo cell functional assay I designed, on equipment I fabricated. I developed in vivo pharmacodynamic and efficacy models of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and utilized these models in identifying and prioritizing preclinical candidate compounds.I developed and optimized novel cell isolation techniques for calcium and contractility assays, which doubled productivity resulting in higher throughput. I received a commendation from US Congressman John Garamendi for my presentation of my research. Please contact me at b••••••••@gmail.com or message me here on Linkedin.
